April 3, 2023 — Rock Springs law enforcement received a report of an active shooter at Rock Springs High School this morning. Upon investigation, it was determined that the threat was not credible. Subsequently, we have learned that this same thing happened in at least one other school district in Wyoming today. No threats have been made against schools in Uinta 4.
When we learned of this information coming out of Rock Springs, the school district began communicating with our local law enforcement in an attempt to verify facts. We also reviewed our safety plans with law enforcement and communicated factual information to our staff members. Student safety is our highest priority and any potential threat to our schools or children will continue to be taken seriously. We appreciate the active involvement with Mountain View Police Chief Allister Bunch today as we worked through this situation.
