No day is ever the same, but it aways involves working with great people and wonderful students. I wear multiple hats at the high school. Daily I provide academic, social/emotional, and college/ career support to all students. I also act as our testing coordinator, high school registrar, and post secondary counselor.
Uinta 4 is a great place to work and I am very lucky to have the opportunity to work with wonderful students, families, and colleagues. I meet weekly with Mrs. Stephens and Mrs. Van Dusen. Kelsey

Van Dusen

Hello! My name is Kelsey Van Dusen and I am the K-12 School Psychologist for Uinta 4. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a great husband and 2 great girls. We love hanging out as a family. We like to try new things and take outside adventures. We are always laughing and my kids say I am weird! I currently am working on my ukulele skills and I love karaoke! I am a Nebraska Cornhusker at heart however my daughter reminds me regularly I am raising future Cowgirls.
I have decided to practice in a school setting because I love the many different ways to work with kids and their family. Before coming to Uinta 4, I was a community therapist and I worked in a community mental health center. I had many awesome experiences and was able to get some of the best training in mental health. I love working with kids and their families.
At Uinta 4 my job is unique and I have different responsibilities daily. I work with our Special Education department providing psycho-educational evaluations and clinical intervention to students. Within the general education setting, I provide prevention services (Guidance/Social Skills, K-8 PBIS Coaching for School wide PBIS Implementation), intervention services (Girl Power, Cool guys etc) and clinical intervention (Mental Health Counseling) to students. I really love working with our students and helping anyway that I can and I love watching our kids grow into independent people. Kids are just amazing! I also love the challenge of collaborating with our teachers to provide the best we can for our students.
I have several areas of professional interest with special training. Behavior, Autism, Child/Family Counseling, Trauma, Neuropsychology (how the brain works) , Academic Interventions and how the brain learns!
I have one of the best professional teams around. Ms. Lupher, Mrs. Stephens and myself collaborate weekly (sometimes daily) to offer our students the most comprehensive counseling program we can. Please contact us with any questions or concerns
